Quiet Rooms

She doesn’t want it to be about that

Twist her arm she won’t tell you

It was a quiet loss

She thinks she sees him sometimes in the hallway

An unfriendly reminder

Alive on the other coast

She remembers too much

At the edge of the kitchen

His lips on her forehead

His hands around her waist

The shadows between the words

Empty bed

Long nights

The silence

He says "Everything happens for a reason

It couldn’t be helped

I could never give you what you wanted

I tried, we tried so hard for so long "

The wedding photos

Facebook " people you may know "

The sting of reality

A long-gone apparition

She was the last to know

The birth pangs of a new romance

He says, "You know, It couldn’t be helped

She’s so young, she didn't understand

She hopes we can all be friends one day

You know, you and I

We were together for so long

The boy will be all right

He’s with you now

I'll see him in the summer

He can meet the new baby"

She hears laughter in the other room

He says everybody is awake now

I better go

Talk soon
